Job Description
IFS is seeking a high-energy, technical Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to drive aggressive sales growth across our Great Lakes territory. This is a field-based, hunter-focused outside sales role responsible for managing, growing, and holding accountable our channel/distributor network while expanding market share in municipal and industrial pump applications.
You will own the territory end-to-end: evaluating distributor coverage, training channel partners on technical/commercial applications (electrical submersible pumps and control panels), building joint key account plans, and closing high-value B2B orders.
What You Will Do:
- Drive Territory Revenue: Achieve and exceed annual order and revenue growth targets across the Great Lakes region through proactive channel development and direct end-user engagement.
- Proactively Drive Distributors: Develop annual account plans with quotas for each channel partner; direct and align partners toward strategic target accounts rather than reactively taking inbound orders.
- Expand Regional Coverage: Identify coverage gaps in the region, recruit, onboard, and train high-performing new distributor partners.
- Technical & Commercial Quoting: Support distributors in developing precise technical and commercial proposals for industrial, slurry, and municipal pumping applications.
- CRM & Pipeline Discipline: Maintain disciplined logging of daily calls, customer interactions, and pipeline opportunities using HubSpot CRM and company ERP systems.
- Territory Presence: Travel extensively (~75%) across the Great Lakes region to visit distributors, engineering firms, and end-user job sites, with occasional travel to headquarters in New Haven, CT.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 7+ years of B2B Outside Field Sales experience in industrial manufacturing or industrial distributor management.
- Pump & Controls Expertise: Direct hands-on sales experience with electrical submersible pumps, slurry pumps, industrial pumping systems, or industrial pump control panels.
- Proven Channel Leadership: Demonstrated track record of setting distributor quotas, conducting joint end-user sales calls, and actively driving partner performance.
- Territory Location: Must currently reside within the Great Lakes territory (Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Western PA, West Virginia, or Western NY).
- Travel Commitment: Ability to travel ~75% of the time (typically 2–3 nights per week overnight).
- Technical & CRM Proficiency: Ability to read/interpret mechanical and electrical specifications, with practical experience using HubSpot (or equivalent CRM) and ERP software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Industrial Technology.
- Established distributor and end-user relationships across Great Lakes municipal or industrial wastewater/slurry markets.
- Experience with PowerBI sales analytics tools.
