Senior Product Manager – Document Intelligence Platform

## About the Role Taxwell is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy, 0-to-1 innovation, and execution for our professional document intelligence and import capabilities. You will own the core workflows that power Drake—our trusted tax solution used by thousands of accounting firms nationwide. In this role, you will bridge modern cloud capabilities (AI/ML, OCR, LLM extraction) with mission-critical tax workflows. You will be responsible for improving preparer productivity, ensuring absolute compliance with changing state and federal tax laws, and delivering rock-solid reliability during peak tax season. ## What You Will Do - **Document Intelligence & Workflow Strategy:** Drive the vision and roadmap for document collection, ingestion, classification, and data extraction capabilities across our desktop and cloud portals. - **0-to-1 Innovation:** Identify customer pain points through continuous discovery, design MVPs, run rapid experiments, and ship features that apply AI, OCR, and modern cloud technologies to automate manual tax preparation tasks. - **Fixed-Deadline Execution:** Partner closely with compliance, tax content, engineering, and UX teams to deliver regulatory updates and product enhancements on time ahead of peak tax season. - **Operational & Performance Excellence:** Define confidence thresholds, human-in-the-loop review workflows, and error-handling mechanics to ensure high accuracy, auditability, and system stability during high-volume periods. - **Cross-Functional Leadership:** Communicate priorities, explicit tradeoffs, and product requirements clearly across engineering, design, security, support, and executive leadership. ## Must-Have Qualifications - 6+ years of Product Management experience owning commercial, customer-facing B2B SaaS products end-to-end (from discovery and roadmap to launch and iteration). - **Document Processing Depth:** Hands-on experience leading products or initiatives involving document ingestion, classification, OCR, structured data extraction, AI/ML, or LLMs. - **Data-Driven Impact:** Proven track record of quantifying results using metrics such as processing time, error reduction, adoption rates, support volume, or workflow efficiency. - **Deadline-Driven Execution:** Demonstrated experience making tough prioritization decisions and delivering complex releases under hard regulatory or seasonal deadlines. - **Time Zone Availability:** Located in and working within the US Central or Eastern Time Zone. ## Nice-to-Have Experience - Direct domain experience in professional tax, accounting, fintech, legaltech, or compliance software. - Familiarity with professional tax software workflows or client portal ecosystems.
